Hard Candy Tiki Bronzer Review

After recieving a ton of Eidi on Eid-Al-Fitr, I decided to spend the first bit on makeup. Highlighter is a look I’ve really been into lately but I didn’t own an actual one. I’ve been using an eyeshadow from a mini eyeshadow palette I have and it worked wonderfully. However, I thought it was time I bought myself a proper highlighter.

Although this product is called a bronzer, it definitely isn’t one, at least not for my skin tone. This would probably work as a bronzer for super pale skin.

I saw plenty of amazing reviews for this product online and decided to buy it after accepting the fact that Canada doesn’t sell more affordable highlighters from brands life Elf, Wet n Wild, and Essence. The reviews said that it was a strong highlight and the shimmer didn’t actually show once applied to the skin.

I was still a little double minded on buying this though because I rarely spend money on makeup, and this product cost a little under $10. Eventually I set my mind on this highlighter and purchased it.

I was so excited to try it out! I swatched it on my fingers and thought the colour was beautiful. But unfortunately, once applied to the skin, you couldn’t see it. It felt a little powdery as applying it and you couldn’t see a thing.

Then I decided to use a brush and I got the same results. All I could see was glitter.

Next I decided to wet my brush and apply it. This did help a little, but it still wasn’t as intense as I wanted it to be. Fortunately though, it was build able.

But once I got it to the intensity that I liked, the highlight looked more of a white, glittery streak rather than a golden sheen.

I was super disappointed to see that it wouldn’t blend and it had so much glitter!

I did try this highlighter a few times after the first time hoping that it would look better this time, but it never did.

I really wish I didn’t buy this product and I do not recommend it if you don’t like a glittery highlight.

Essence XXXL Long Lasting Lipgloss|Matt|Soft Nude|💟

Essence XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss in Soft Nude

After finally getting over the fact that this lip cream is not available in Canada, I found it on my trip to Pakistan. The price was a little higher here (after converting it), but I knew it wasn’t available where I live so I picked it up without hesitation.

The first thing I’d like to say is hOLY IT SMELLS AMAZING. This cream has a sweet vanilla scent when applying which I feel is 90% of the reason why I like this product. The doe foot applicator is also a pro.

But other then that, there’s nothing much to this lip cream. The shade is a soft brown which looks no different then my natural lip colour, and the formulation is neither matte or creamy. It’s somewhere in between which I feel doesn’t look so good on the lips.

When I do wear this lip cream I like to pair it on top of a lipstick.

Organix Anti Breakage Keratin Oil Shampoo Review

As most of you know, my hair had been getting thin over the past couple months so I had cut it. Along with the cut, I had decided to use a new shampoo to help with the breakage. I chose Organix Anti Breakage Keratin Oil Shampoo.

Organix is a brand I have used before. When I first started my hair growth journey in 2012, I bought a shampoo of their’s called Organix Nutritional Acai Berry Avocado. The reason why I switched to Organix was because their shampoo’s are sulfate free. After falling in love with it and using it for a couple of years, that line was unfortunately discontinued. I then had to switch to a different company that was also sulfate free, but I didn’t like it as much since it only came in one type (Moroccon Argan Oil).

Now before I get into how well this shampoo performed, I want to talk about a few other things. This shampoo retails for $7.99 at Walmart which is a little pricey for 385mL of product. The packaging is different from other shampoo’s I’ve seen.. it comes in a round like bottle. The scent to me smells slightly berry like which surprisingly I don’t mind. Lastly is the product itself which has a golden colour and slightly runny consistency.

I have been using this shampoo for a month now and this is what it’s done to my hair so far:

First use: no difference

Second use: less breakage.

Third use: less breakage in shower and when brushing

Fourth use: less breakage in shower. No breakage when brushing.

Fifth use: felt slightly thicker.

Overall I like this shampoo for controlling breakage and would recommend it to people having the same problem.

Need the perfect eyeliner for beginners? Well I’ve got just the one for you by Essence! Essence is a brand that offers high quality makeup for affordable prices and is exclusively available here in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart.

I’ve been using this eyeliner for about a year now, and have already purchased my third one. When I bought the eyeliner I didn’t expect myself to use it often because I thought I’d never be able to learn how to apply eyeliner. But boy was I wrong because it’s probably the easiest eyeliner I’ve ever used! It applies soft, smooth, and pigmented, and lasts all day. The eyeliner is also wearable on the lash line to give your lashes a fuller look. I will admit though that it applies quite light on the waterline and doesn’t last as long.

This twist up eyeliner costs $3.49 (Canadian) and is available in 6 different colours. I have “01 Black Fever” and “17 Tu-tu-turquoise”, the names of the shades speaking for themselves.

If you find yourself at Shoppers and want to try something new and easy to use, then definitely try this eye liner!
